DCM’s Heartwarming Angel Tree Initiative Grants 70 Wishes for Foster Kids

This year the Department of Design and Construction Management (DCM) staff worked together with staff from Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts and the Office of Procurement and Contract Compliance to make the holidays special for 23 children in foster care. DCM created an Angel Tree with 70 wish list items requested by children in foster care who may not have received any holiday gifts without our help.  The children range in age from infants to 18 years old, and their wish lists include such wide-ranging items as learning toys, art projects, sports equipment, and personal hygiene items. Thanks to the generosity of City staff, we were able to donate all the holiday wish list items for these children. The gifts were delivered to ChildNet, an agency that supports foster children in Broward & Palm Beach County, to be distributed to the foster children in time for the holidays.
